The thing that genuinely sets the beachfront apart is corrosion, and it is worth understanding because it changes what you should be asking for. Salt-laden air blows in off open coast, settles on everything, and goes to work on the aluminium long before it touches the glass. Rollers seize, catches and stays corrode, powder coating blisters and lifts at the frame joins, and fixings pit. Add fine blown sand grinding into slider tracks and a door that ran with one finger five years ago now needs a shoulder. Usually not. On the beachfront the most common cause by far is worn rollers and a track packed with fine blown sand and salt, which grinds the rollers out early. That is a repair, not a replacement: we clean and check the track, replace the rollers, and the door runs properly again. If a pane has actually cracked or a sealed unit has fogged we deal with that at the same visit, but we will not sell you glass you do not need.
Corrosion in the frame itself is a joinery problem rather than a glass one, and it is honest to say so up front. If the frame is still sound we can reglaze into it and it will be fine for years. If the corrosion has gone through at the joins or the frame will no longer hold glass properly, we will tell you that onsite rather than after the job, so you can make a decision about the window rather than paying twice.
