Lifestyle-block glazing for orchards, acreage homes and Minden view sites.
From a cracked pane in the packhouse to a full frameless balustrade looking out over the harbour, First Glass Solutions covers Te Puna's rural and residential properties with the same free measure, quote and NZ-standard glass we use everywhere else in the Bay.
Cross the Wairoa River bridge north of Bethlehem and you're in Te Puna, and for us, that's a short trip up SH2 from our Tauranga base, not a special rural call-out. A lot of people assume a glazier "based in Tauranga" means a long wait once you're past the city limits. For Te Puna it doesn't. We're closer to the Minden than we are to some parts of Pyes Pa, so standard repairs run on the same same-day basis as anywhere else in town.
Te Puna's housing stock is unlike the rest of Tauranga's, and that shapes the glass work. This is kiwifruit and avocado country: orchard blocks, packhouses and shelter belts line Wairoa Road, and the homes sitting among them are mostly acreage properties rather than subdivision sections. We fit and repair glass for sheds, glasshouses and outbuildings as often as we do for the house itself, and rural access, gates and long driveways are just part of the job out here. Out toward Plummers Point and Pahoia, where sections run down to the harbour edge, we see more of that salt-laden coastal air working on aluminium tracks and glazing rubbers than you'd get further inland, so we check those while we're onsite for anything else.
Then there's the Minden. Some of the more ambitious architectural builds in the wider Bay sit up on that ridge, chasing uninterrupted views across the harbour to Mount Maunganui and the coast. Big views drive big glass: frameless balustrades that don't put a rail across the panorama, floor-to-ceiling window walls, and pool fencing that protects the kids without blocking the outlook. Oversize and frameless panes have to be measured exactly onsite, nothing about them can be eyeballed from a brochure photo, so we treat every Minden quote as a proper site visit, not a phone estimate. The same care applies to pool fencing on a lifestyle block: the compliance rules don't relax just because the nearest neighbour is an orchard rather than another house, so we install and space every panel to meet NZ safety standards regardless of how rural the address is.
Alongside the new architectural builds, Te Puna still has its share of older villas and farmhouses with original timber joinery, and we reglaze those the same careful way we do anywhere else in the Bay: cutting out old putty, matching obscure or patterned glass where it's needed, and leaving the joinery clean. Kitchens getting a renovation are another steady job out this way, with toughened splashbacks cut to size behind a new bench, and plenty of custom glass work for cabinetry, awkward window shapes in older homes, and the odd glasshouse pane that's copped a hailstone or a wayward cricket ball. Whatever the property, it's the same First Glass Solutions standard behind it: family-owned, 40+ years of glazing experience across the team, free onsite measures and quotes, a 5.0-star Google rating, and replacement glass to NZ safety standards (AS/NZS 2208).
All replacement glass meets NZ safety standards (AS/NZS 2208).

Based in Tauranga, working right across the region.
Both. A single cracked ranchslider pane on a Wairoa Road lifestyle block gets the same free onsite measure and quote as a full balustrade job. We'd rather see the site in person than guess a price over the phone, especially on rural properties where access or gate codes can matter.
We measure onsite first, every time, because oversize and frameless glass has to be exact: there's no trimming a floor-to-ceiling pane on installation day. Once we've seen the opening and the view line you're building around, we'll quote the glass and the install together, free of charge.
Yes. Pool fencing compliance is the same standard whether the pool is on a quarter-acre section or a Te Puna lifestyle block. We install glass pool fencing to meet NZ safety standards regardless of address, and we're happy to talk through spacing and gate requirements before you commit to a layout.
Quicker than most people expect. Te Puna sits just over the Wairoa River from Bethlehem, only a short run up SH2 from our Tauranga base, so same-day service is usually available for standard repairs. Urgent damage still goes through our 24/7 emergency glass line, day or night.
Tell us what you need, we'll get back to you fast.
